Again this year, Angie from Gnome Angel hosted the Instagram challenge #100days100blocks2017 featuring the 100 blocks in Tula Pink City Sampler book. Every day I eagerly checked Instagram to see all the beautiful blocks. I don’t know how many people participated, but there were dozens of blocks each day. What eye candy! Surprisingly, I kept up all 100 days. If you want to see each block up close, check my Instagram feed (@patchworksampler).
The room is too small for me to get back far enough to get all 100 blocks in the picture. What you can’t see is the bare space at the bottom where Block 56 should be. When I put all the blocks on the wall, there were only 99. I scrolled through my Instagram feed to see which one was missing, then made a new block. I know that was faster than digging through every project I worked on this summer to find where it might be hiding.
Finishing this quilt was my One Monthly Goal for August. That goal may have been too ambitious as I am still piecing the top and waiting for the backing to arrive. With only 1 day left in August, I may miss the goal.

Angie will be hosting #100days100blocks2018 starting Friday, March 30, 2018. Details may be found here. It is highly motivating to see the blocks every day. They are pretty easy to make and I usually sew 5-10 at a time to make it more manageable. If you want incentive to join in, just search the hashtag #100days100blocks2017 to see the many different themes from this year’s challenge.
Can’t wait until 2018? Join me and many others as we start Jen Kingwell’s Gypsy Wife Sew Along also hosted by Angie at Gnome Angel.
