Creating quilts and working with fabric is my passion. In 1988 I walked into a quilt shop and felt like I was coming home. At that time I had a toddler, was working “part-time” 40 hours a week in public accounting and was commuting 2 hours every day. The hum of the sewing machine was just what I needed to decompress after a long day. I was lucky to have passionate quilters as my first teachers and they were the best inspiration a fledgling quilter could hope for. Since then I’ve made hundreds of quilts and have been teaching quilting in some way or another for the past 22 years.
After starting the “One Mile Challenge” to sew one mile of fabric from my stash I’ve come to realize I’ll never be able to sew all the fabric in my stash so I started a little Quilting DeStash shop on Etsy. I also sell a few finished quilts on Etsy at PatchworkSampler to help defray the cost of fabric, batting, thread and shipping costs for charity quilts.
Recently most of my quilting efforts are geared toward making charity quilts. This gives me a chance to use my huge fabric stash, try new techniques and share my love of quilting with people all over the world. I’m also excited to introduce a new pattern line this fall. Look for details on that soon!
