June was another busy month with a little travel, lots of house guests and some summer fun so once again, I didn’t spend much time in the sewing room. Now that I am back in business with long arm quilting, I managed to complete my One Monthly Goal for June. This quilt is Pie In The Sky, the cover quilt from Kim Diehl’s book Simple Graces.
Originally my plan was to quilt a simple pantograph. I checked to see how the original quilt was quilted and it was freehand swirls. The instructions described the design as “cinnamon rolls” so I knew I had to add this to my machine quilting repertoire! Who doesn’t like cinnamon rolls? It was very fast and easy. With a quilt this busy, nothing would show up very well so fast and easy was perfect.
The backing is a tan vine print and I even added a label. This quilt was on my bucket list for quite awhile and I’m happy to have it finished.
