Do you know one of the best things about quilting? It is how much quilters inspire one another. Carrie, a long-time blog reader sent a picture of this quilt that she made for the June challenge.
This is Color Explosion by Bonjour Quilts. I love the use of color in this quilt and solids are perfect for this pattern. However, this quilt has been a long time coming. In her email, Carrie wrote that she’s had this pattern and fabric since 2016 and had not started it until the solids challenge. This sentence inspired the July challenge! I thought about the many quilts on my bucket list, the fabric I just couldn’t wait to use, the kits I just had to buy, and how they are sitting in bins. Today is the day to start one of these projects.
Most of us have probably purchased a kit after seeing a quilt online or bought a pattern after seeing a friend’s quilt, or picked up some beautiful fabric after seeing a shop sample. Now it is time to dig it out and START THAT QUILT! The rules of the challenge are always very loose. It is only a little motivation to help you to make progress on some quilty project. You would be surprised at how much progress you can make by just sewing a few seams every day.
Not only did Carrie make the Color Explosion top, but she also started a Pixelated Rose quilt.
This is going to be gorgeous! Thank you, Carrie, for the inspiration. I am so excited to see what you are doing each month to turn stash into quilts! You have inspired me to find a pattern and some fabric, then start that quilt!
