My February OMG (One Monthly Goal) was to piece the City Tiles top. Not only did I meet that goal, but finished the quilt. I put the last hand stitches in the binding this afternoon. Unfortunately it was too late to take pictures outside so I just put it on the bed and snapped a quick picture. Later in the week I hope to get a full photo shoot. I’m happy with the way this turned out. I used a stack of Riley Blake fat quarters for the block centers, some coordinating Moda Bella solids on the outside and an old white print for the background. Even the pink polka dot back came from stash so I didn’t purchase any new fabric for this project. I followed the pattern except for one tiny change. Instead of using the background fabric in the block corners, I used the center print so I got little four patches between the blocks (they are surrounded by the lighter green fabric).
Thanks to Emily at Quilty Love for hosting the City Tiles Quilt Along. If you like the pattern, you may purchase it here. Also thanks to Patty at Elm Street Quilts for hosting OMG every month. Be sure to click the link here to see what other quilters accomplished in February.
