Even though I don’t feel at all guilty about the size of my stash because I sew everyday, I do try to turn it over and end each month with less than what I started with. Storage is a bit of a problem because we don’t plan to stay in this house forever and our next home will be smaller than this one so the stash needs to be continually downsized. I still really like making scrappy quilts in traditional colors and try to make at least one scrappy quilt per month, so progress is being made!
Friends are a bad influence, however and when my sewing group met earlier in the month, someone showed a quilt made from a beautiful Art Gallery fabric. I am obsessed with coral and HAD to have some for myself. A few days later, two yards of that fabric arrived on my doorstep along with 15 yards of coordinates to go with it. I can’t wait to use it and already have plans—after I finish a few quilts in progress!
The only other purchase for this month was for the baby quilt I made last week and already gifted.
In August I only started two quilts, the aforementioned baby quilt and one other small one, and finished six. I’m really happy about that!
End of August Stash Report:
Purchased this month: 22 yards
Purchased YTD: 108 yards
Used this month: 40 yards
Used YTD: 173 yards
Net Out of Stash: 65 yards
These numbers are acceptable to me and show that I am slowly using up stash. I should be able to keep it up for September because four quilts are just waiting for binding.
Linking up with all the other stash reports at Patchwork Times.

You’re where I am, slowly working it down. That new fabric is beautiful!

It sounds like a pretty big bite out of the stash this year! Love your coral fabrics, though. =)

That is a great deal of sewing and stash busting! Congratulations!
