Make quilts. Use fabric. Have fun.

2016 Week 20 Stash Report

This quilt should be called “A Million Little Pieces.”  Actually, they aren’t all that little, but it seems like there are a million of them.  The piecing isn’t complicated, there are just many variations on a similar theme.  This is only part of the units for four blocks.  Lots of putzy cutting.  You have to be very careful sewing the units together or the design won’t work.   It is a gift quilt for later in the summer so I don’t want to reveal what it is, but I’m not slacking….still getting lots done!

Million little pieces

As far as stash reduction goes, I had to buy some fabric for backs but now I can get those tops ready for the quilting queue which will mean more fabric out!!

Now the numbers:
Purchased this week: 9 yards
Purchased Ytd: 53 yards
Used this week: 25 yards
Used YTD: 64.5 yards
Net Out of Stash: 11.5 yards

Being in the black is fantastic! Sometimes you have to buy fabric to use more fabric.

Even with some in you are still well in the black, you’ll be doing really well once you get those quilts all done. Have a great Sunday.

I can’t believe you’ve managed to purchase only 9 yards of fabric this week! But maybe you weren’t in the right place at the right time. =) Nice to be in the black, anyway. I like the colors in your sneak peek.
