I worked on this right up until Monday, but was determined to finish it by Halloween–Halloween 2022! This quilt is from the Scaredy Cat quilt pattern by Jedi Craft Girl. I made the blocks last fall, but once Halloween was over it became a UFO and languished for about a year. The fabric is Moda’s Kitty Corn line by Urban Chiks and it is perfect for this quilt. I love the soft colors. They are not the screaming orange, green, and black you typically see for Halloween. The background is a coordinating Moda Grunge.
Here is a picture of the whole quilt. It is not a great picture because of the afternoon sun, but you get an idea of what it looks like.
Here is a closeup of some of the fabrics and the quilting. I used an edge-to-edge pantograph called Party Streamers by Urban Elementz.
This is one UFO finished, but there are still many, many others waiting to be finished. I am really trying to finish an old project for every new one I start. That probably isn’t reducing the UFOs by much, but at least it’s progress. I strive for progress, not perfection! I once again abandoned the rainbow curves project, but it is still on the design wall and will be the next UFO finish.
Sometimes I am overwhelmed by all the stash and UFOs and I have been thinking of ways to motivate myself to finish projects and use stash. I know many of you who are long-time quilters are in the same predicament. You want to get rid of your stash and finish quilts. Starting in January I plan to have some challenges and easy projects that will help you accomplish these goals. I hope to build a community of quilters who will encourage and motivate each other to use fabric, make quilts, and have fun!
