I really, really want to finish the Wanderer’s Wife top. It is a monster though and summer is turning out to be a bad time to make this commitment. I decided to work toward progress though, not perfection.
My small quilt group is meeting this week and I wanted to have the top ready for show and tell. It is not going to happen. We have good weather for such a very short period of time in Wisconsin and for my mental health, I have to take advantage of every minute of it. We try to pack many fun activities over the summer months and are having fun in double-time since last summer was a bust.
So, I am unapologetic about not meeting last week’s goal. I made a little progress on Wanderer’s Wife, made twelve six-inch Sampler Spree blocks, pieced a hundred or so little 1-1/2″ x 3″ flying geese, made a few more house blocks.
The flying geese will be used in the setting for my Women of the Bible quilt. The little house blocks will be a wall hanging when I accumulate enough of them!
This week’s goals are more of the same…more flying geese, more houses, and a little more progress on Wanderer’s Wife. In addition to this, I am doing some secret sewing that will be revealed over the next few months!
Hope you are spending your summer doing things you love!
