Just under the wire, my City Sampler quilt is finished. UPS delivered the backing around 5:30 yesterday afternoon. I wasted no time loading on the frame and quilting it. From the beginning I planned to quilt simple straight lines so the quilting was quick and easy even though it is a big quilt. I think it is right around 93” square. The layout is one that is shown in the book, but I made all the sashing 3” wide instead of 4” because I wanted the quilt to fit on a queen size bed.
It was almost dark when I finished the binding so I had to take an inside picture. Tomorrow I’ll take one outside so I can get the whole quilt in the picture.
These blocks were fun to make and I can’t wait to start another one. Ideas for next year’s challenge are already swirling in my head. If you want to join #100days100blocks2018, you can find more information on Gnome Angel’s website here or if you want to make a City Sampler quilt on your own, the patterns and a few setting ideas are in the book Tula Pink’s City Sampler: 100 Modern Quilt Blocks and is available here.
Linking up this One Monthly Goal (OMG) finish with Patty at Elm Street Quilts. Head over to see what others finished in August, then check back tomorrow to see September’s goal.

OH EMMM GHEE! Rhonda I totally love love the background white/gray you did. It brings depth to the quilt and really showcases the blocks wonderfully. Love it.
