Friday Finish: Sea Glass

I really thought I would have more than one finish this week, but was lucky to even get the binding on this one.

Sea Glass

The pattern is Sea Glass from Kim Brackett’s Scrap-Basket Beauties book.  The original pattern was made from green and blue batiks (sea colors, hence the name).  I re-purposed some flannel strips that were cut for another project to make it.  Fabrics for both the setting triangles and borders were in my stash and worked really well with the scrappy fabrics.

This will be a donation quilt so I quilted a simple pantograph called Jilly.  This was a “bonus” UFO finish for August/September.  This UFOs in this particular basket are dwindling so this morning I dug through another bin to replenish it.  I found a few projects to finish but much of the fabric I found will be put back in stash.  There were also quite a few kits that will be disassembled.  Sometimes when I discover a kit I wonder what made me think I wanted to make that—embroidered country angel wall hanging, I’m talking about you!!

Be sure to take a look at what others are whooping about this week by clicking the links at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

I don’t know what it is about the simple patchwork quilts that I love so much – reminds one of time with grandma perhaps? I just love the look

This looks like such a warm and comforting quilt. I especially like the plaid border.

It’s beautiful. I don’t think I’d be able to part with it. Flannel quilts are so snuggly and warm!
