I’m still quilting the French Kiss quilt so I’ll show a picture of my last quilt finished in 2014.
Yep, another Yellow Brick Road. This was also made as a commission for my cat sitter. She wanted a lap quilt for her mother for Christmas, but didn’t ask me until after Thanksgiving so it had to be a quick and easy one. It doesn’t get much easier than this. I still like this pattern even though I’ve made it about a dozen times. It looks good in any fabric and there is no waste. For a lap quilt, you buy 12 fat quarters (bonus for me—these were from stash!) and cut up all but a sliver of each one. I love not having to deal with scraps.
After sending the picture to my client she asked me to add her mother’s initial to the quilt so I appliqued a “D” onto the corner.
It was nice to end the year with an old favorite!
