Patchwork Sampler

Make quilts. Use fabric. Have fun.

DWM: Mod Quads

Last year I made a shop sample from the pattern Mod Quads from the Blue Underground Studios patterns.  The sample was in batiks but it was a good stashbuster so I made my own version from stash.  I came across a partial top and the remaining blocks so I finished sewing the top together.  This will be a donation quilt so now I need to decide if it’s big enough or if I should make it a little bigger by making more blocks or adding a border.

Be sure to get your weekly dose of inspiration by checking out other design wall projects at Patchwork Times.

As I mentioned yesterday, I moved my blog from Blogger to this WordPress site.  I’ll continue to cross-post for a few days to make sure all the kinks have been worked out.  If you were following the Blogger site, I hope you’ll continue to follow me here!

September Give-Away.  This morning when I got the temperature outside was so cool it already felt like fall so I decided to give away this set of six fat quarters from the Moda line Phenomenal Fall by Sandy Gervais.  Just leave a comment and tell everyone whether or not you make quilty seasonal items for your home and if so, what kind of things do you make.  Due to shipping costs, the give-away is only open to US mailing addresses.  I’ll use a random generator to determine the winner on the morning of Friday, Sept. 6.

Phenomenal Fall

Have a Happy Labor Day.  I know I will–no work today!!  Woo hoo!

I’d love to win that little bundle. I made fall projects for the family but only if they ask. I’ve made a couple of leaf quilts and a cute Jack-o-lantern mug rug in the past.

Halloween table runners, bed runners, bags, Turkey wall hangings…anything that can cross from Halloween to Thanksgiving.

Would love to win these fabrics. Next year I hope to make a scarecrow wallhanging. But right now I am in the process of making Christmas stockings. Have a couple of new members to the family this year.

I make seasonal projects for me and my two grown daughters. Sandy Gervis is one of my favorite designers. Just made her tiny Christmas tree stacked squares, I love it

I love Blue Underground designs. Jeanine Burke and Amy Walsh have been speakers at our guild with trunk show of their quilts. I’d love to win those mellow autumn FQs!

Love your Mod Quad! Have admired Blue Underground patterns for a while.
So far I have mainly made Christmas season wall quilts or runners. Looking around fall colors are all over my house and I really should add some fall accents. Thanks for a chance

I’ve made a few Christmas and Halloween items. I’m on the lookout for some spring and summer projects so I can vary my decor, but haven’t found the right project(s) yet. Thanks for the chance to enter the giveaway.

I make seasonal things for my home for every holiday! When I get too many, I make them for my daughter’s homes! I didn’t know how much they appreciated my decorating for every holiday until they moved out and insisted they needed me to make tablerunners and pillows for their homes!

I have made a 4th of July lap quilt, have a partially made Christmas quilt, and materials for a Thanksgiving quilt. Pathway paved by good intentions? Enjoy your writing. Thanks!

I don’t really decorate for various holidays. Christmas, but that’s mostly a tree and a couple of snowmen things. I have a fall quilt I inherited when my best friend died, and I may put it up on the wall this year. Your move was a good one. WordPress, once you’re used to it, is so much more flexible than other blog options, and I’ve used several. Definitely like it way better than blogspot!
