A couple of weeks ago I pieced this tumbler top with the new Tula Pink and Ty Pennington lines for a shop sample. When I dropped it off the shop owner and I spent some time auditioning borders but nothing really jumped out at us so we let it simmer for awhile. After I left she tried this fish fabric and it worked pretty well. Now it’s all quilted, bound and hanging in the shop. It was such a fun and easy piecing project–I really want to pull out some fat quarters or my bin of 5” strips and make a scrappy version.
For some reason, the yellow really stands out in the picture but it’s not nearly as vibrant in “real life.” It’s a great way to use some big prints and the Marti Michell Tumbler Template made it a snap to cut and piece.

Looks great……I like the yellow in it.

You know, I never would have picked that fabric for the border, but it looks OUTSTANDING!
