After finishing all the blocks, the real test came in setting them together. I just hoped they would be the same size so everything would fit together properly. This quilt is set on point so I had to draft the setting diamonds. The pattern instructions had you cut rectangles, then cut one edge at a 60 degree angle. Once again, I wanted to make sure they were all the same size, so I drafted the correct size half diamonds for setting blocks. Miraculously, it all worked and I could finally sew on the borders—the ONLY thing on this quilt top that isn’t bias!
The end is in sight on this project. Time to get it loaded, quilted, bound and out of here!

I’m doing a diamond quilt now also and am about to cut sashing. Did you consider keeping a zigzag edge instead of using setting trianges?
