Patchwork Sampler

Make quilts. Use fabric. Have fun.

Week 36, 2013 Stash Report

It seems like I’ve been sewing quite a bit lately but am not finishing anything.  This week I actually moved in the wrong direction and added fabric but didn’t use any.  I know people count their fabric usage differently but I don’t count mine as being used until the quilt is finished.  This gives me a little motivation to finish things so I can add the yardage to my totals.

On Friday I went to Quilt Expo in Madison.  Usually I’m really tempted at shows by all the new quilts and fabrics.  I didn’t see too much that was new this time.  I thought there would be more bright, modern fabrics but didn’t see much of anything along that line.  I already have a million yards of dark, traditional fabric in my stash so I was able to pass on most of it.

There was one booth, though, that was selling fat quarters for $1.80 each.  THAT was too big a bargain to pass up so I came away with these.

Madison-FQ

Just 20 fat quarters.  I have a plan for the black/brown/tan ones but the others were just for fun.

Next week I’ll report a finish or two.  I loaded a quilt on the machine today and told my husband I hope I haven’t forgotten how to quilt!  Seems like forever since I had something on the frame.

My weekly stats:
Used this week:  0
Used year to date:  270 yards
Purchased this week:  5 yards
Purchased year to date: 98 yards
Net year to date:  172 yards used –
