Time to get back on track and knock out some UFOs this month. The big ones I would really like to finish are Trail Mix, Dazzling Stars and Celtic Solstice. All three are well underway but will still take a considerable time commitment. Since we still have a little more time in the warm and sunny south before heading home to Wisconsin, this month I’m choosing the Trail Mix quilt as my One Monthly Goal (OMG) because it is closest to completion.
This picture was taken awhile back and now most of the top is sewn together. There has to be suitable border fabrics in my stash so I’m optimistic it will be finished this month. Every time I look at this quilt I’m reminded of why it has been on my “to do” list forever. It is the ultimate scrap quilt and there are dozens of fabrics in this quilt. The smallest pieces finish 1″ so you can use even the tiniest scraps. I think of the late, great Mary Ellen Hopkins saying, “Make kindergarten blocks and let the fabric do the work.” The fabric in the Trail Mix quilt works hard because the blocks are super simple! The pattern is FREE right now at allpeoplequilt.com so click here to download it for yourself.
Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts the official OMG so be sure to click here to see what other quilters hope to complete this month.

I love your trailmix quilt! I made a row of blocks for this quilt pattern in a family round robin a couple years back and vowed I would make one someday. I have even thought about just cutting pieces out for it gradually as I have leftovers from other quilts.
Gorgous!

That’s a great design. It’s one I’ve wanted to make myself and never seem to get to.
