This week’s Friday Finish is The Neighborhood Quilt. This was a quick and easy quilt and I just love how it turned out. The pattern is “The Neighborhood” (of course!) by Villa Rosa Designs. You can find the pattern here and it is available as a pdf download or a little “Rose Card.”
This pattern uses two charm packs plus background, border and binding fabrics. All of my fabric is from Moda’s Quotation line by Zen Chic. The fabrics I used are in my little Etsy shop here. The background, an off-white with gray and black dots is a current favorite and I’ve already used it in another project.
I kept the quilting very simple with wavy horizontal lines. My lines are consistently inconsistent in both width between lines and shape of the waves.
Who doesn’t like a striped binding? This little text print worked beautifully when cut on the bias.
Lucky for me, I had just enough of this old Bonnie and Camille print for the back. It was a nice match. I plan to make this pattern again using stash fabric. It is so simple to use charm squares, but I have a million 2-1/2″ strips that will work well too. If you are looking for a fast and fun project, consider making your own quilt from The Neighborhood pattern.
